Ethanol Investments become Evergreen in £12.2 million AIM flotation

Tuesday 20, May 2008

Ethanol Investments was re-admitted to AIM on 20th May 2008 as Evergreen Securities Plc ("Evergreen") with a market capitalisation of £12.2 million following a reverse takeover pursuant to which Evergreen acquired various investments in or related to the clean and renewable energy/technology sector. At the same time Evergreen changed its name and undertook a capital reconstruction.

Evergreen has acquired minority stakes in a clutch of clean technology and/or renewable energy companies including; Cleantech Group LLC (www.cleantech.com) which connects venture, corporate and institutional investors with cleantech entrepreneurs through related information products and advisory services and The CarbonNeutral Company Limited (www.carbonneutral.com), a UK-based carbon offsetting company.

Notably, Ben Goldsmith the English financier and environmentalist will be acting as a consultant and Board advisor to Evergreen.

Evergreen's strategy is to acquire holdings in clean and renewable energy and/or technology companies primarily in Europe, North America and Australasia where such transactions have the potential to create value for the shareholders of the company.

Acting solicitors for Evergreen were Grundberg Mocatta Rakison LLP (GMR). Commenting on the flotation, GMR Partner Mehboob Dossa says "we have been involved with Evergreen since 2005 and it is pleasing to see an environmentally aware company take a further step forward in a market with enormous potential".
